In this photographic series, "Pigalle Basketball", I captured a group of a dozen people in their mid-twenties, during a spring afternoon, playing basketball in a court in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. The competitive and cohesive spirit of the two teams amused me and immediately made the subject very interesting to me. This series not only represents a basketball match but much more: it describes a multitude of different human beings who interact with each other. There is the shy one, the insecure, the competitive, the lazy, the energetic, the confident..This series of photographs represents, through sport, humanity and all its faces. It explores the possibility of arriving, through sharing, in the acceptance of the other.
