Valentina Casadei was born in Ravenna (Italy), in 1993. She graduated in Cinema History at the Dams University in Bologna. Later she moved to Paris where she achieved a Master in Screenwriting and Directing at Eicar. She completed the Atelier Scénario 2021 at La Fémis in Paris, under the supervision of Jacques Akchoti. 

"End of September", her first professional short film, is produced by First Child Productions and received fundings from the Emilia Romagna Film Commission and the city of Bologna, in Italy. It is currently distributed by Tiny Distribution (sales agent: Zen Movie) and it had its premiere at El Gouna Film Festival. The short film has been selected in the 46th Oscar® Qualifying Odense International Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Screenplay.

She currently works for the CNC as a reader (first films committee, AVR1), teaching Screenwriting at Eicar and working on new projects between Italy and France, including the development of her first feature film, "The Lonely Child", and the pre-production of her next short film, "Night Shift", produced by Dublin Films with the support of the city of Paris and the Procirep-Angoa.

Her work focuses on family ties and marginality. 

 

She has published three collections of poems.
